Default Run the Dragon's Tail in NC?

Anyone run the Dragon's Tail on your Sporty? I really want to try it, but my wife thinks I'm crazy. At age 62, I just feel like another challenge. For me, 318 turns in 11 miles will be a challenge.

Rode it with a couple buddy's this past summer on my 09 Custom. I loved it! I didn't think it was as scary/challenging as everything I read. On the way back we got stuck behind a tourist car and had to go slower which sucked but it was a great time regardless!

There's a lot of better roads for Harleys in the area once you've ridden the dragon. I used to be one of those idiots dragging my knee through all the turns and have ridden it a couple times on the Harley now. Cherahola Skyway and lots of other roads in the area give you better scenery/riding than the Dragon.

I'm 61, we rode the Dragon 2 years ago. It was a blast. My sig pic was taken on the Dragon, as you can see we were fully loaded.

If you wanna ride it, then go for it. I have heard alot of people talking about how fun it is. I don't live close to it to try it myself. I like to ride the Red River Gorge in Slade,Ky. It has plenty of twisties but I like to sight see while I ride and you just can't beat the scenery in this area. It has plenty of rock formations and beautiful views. It is a just one of many nice rides from up it KY.

You're dead on about the Skyway....that was a great ride. I rode the dragon in a pack...it was fun, but there is a lot of hype and the legend of it sells t-shirts at the bottom of the hill. I did have a few squids fly around the corners and really pucker'd my ***....it's not a road you want run off of...

It's an awesome ride. I did it a while back on a sport touring bike and loved it. People not on HD's cry that you are going to slow. Meh, whatever people. I saw a Class C motorhome pulling a blazer when I arrived at the top (headed down). THAT is far scarier to see than some slower HD riders scrapping pipes.

Enjoy, be safe.
