Oh, and to correct the record on the subject post. about 10.5 miles of the 11 mile ride are in TN, not NC. LOL

If you want to get technical, look at the mile marker map on the tail of the dragon website.. the part from tail of the dragon store to the TN border is not actually consider part of the dragon. Mile marker 0 starts at the TN border and goes 11.1 miles to the end of the dragon all in TN.

Those tectonic plates just keep moving those mountains around. A couple of hundred million years ago, the dragon was real and all in NC. LOL

I did it last year on my Ultra fully loaded for the trip to Key West. The year before I did it on my Honda Rune. I'm only 70.

My GF and I will be riding, (not "running") the tail this summer, (not on the sporty) because it is on the bucket list. I am 62 and age doesn't even factor in, except that maybe there won't be another chance. Go for it. Enjoy the ride and the road

Rode it this past fall for the first time on my Sportster S and it was a blast. I would have ridden it a little faster but I was following my Son and DIL on their Dyna. lol I am 56
We didn't have time for the skyway or some of the other great local roads, but plan to go back to the area this spring.
Go for it!
