Default Another first long ride.

well long for me. I got this bike about 2 months ago. took a ride out to the coast on it today (called in sick he he) thats about a 2hr drive one direction. anways, is it just me or after an hour of going 65mph does anyone else wrists, fingers and arms go numb? i have a 2001 so yeah it vibrates, not bad but getting it up there at 65 for an hour straight without taking your hand off the throttle killed me. Guess i just have to toughen up. had an awesome time though and the bike took all the hills and turns great, rode like a champ. God by the time i got home though after 4hrs of ridin i can barely lift my right arm....

It may be your arm position. There are a ton of handlebars and riser combos out there to make it more comfortable. I ride a StreetGlide, but on a Sportster, I have found that the old buckhorn style handlebars are more comfortable on longer rides. My son put risers and drag bars on the Sportster, but hates it on long rides. He ended up putting my old ones back on. Just play around with the bars, maybe ride a friends bike with a different set up. Also, if you find yourself gripping the bars tightly, that can cause numbness. The more you ride and the more comfortable you get, the lighter your grip will become. Good luck.
