100 miles is tops, there is always crap in the engine when its open, no matter how clean you are.

I never used a warranty but if my motor seized under 5000 miles, I just might!
Amen to this. Like others have said, they had to get into the motor and that 1,000 mile service is to make sure things are the way they should be and to swap lubricants so anything left behind during the manufacturing process, or in your case the partial engine rebuild, is cleaned out of the system.

I haven't needed the warranty on my bike yet but I've used them on cars and they can be a godsend. With me putting 20K miles on my bike a year I'm glad the warranty is an unlimited 2-year plan.
