I understand that, but you have less than $300 in parts. Especially with black cables, as they are quite inexpensive.
As long as you are happy with the price, that is all that matters. But it is a bit over the top, even for a dealer's charges.

I am only 5 feet tall and I have mini apes on my bike. They are super comfortable for me. I bought my bike used...so I have no idea how much the previous owner paid.

What are the bars called that look a bit "sharper" tha. Regular apes..can't think of a better word..

Once you figure how tall you want the bars, add 2".

Well given the $300 in parts is fine but keep in mind the dealer gets stuck with the repair bill if anything goes wrong. I have put new bars and cables on three other bikes (metrics) and I just really didn't feel like doin another one. I guess lazy cost me $650 oh well I just know they feel great.
