Got em in the bike deal...installed at dealer $950.
Wow! It wild be difficult to consider it a bike "deal", when they charged $950 to install new bars! That is almost double what I paid, and what I have seen others pay. Wow!

I understand that, but you have less than $300 in parts. Especially with black cables, as they are quite inexpensive.
As long as you are happy with the price, that is all that matters. But it is a bit over the top, even for a dealer's charges.
I am only 5 feet tall and I have mini apes on my bike. They are super comfortable for me. I bought my bike used...so I have no idea how much the previous owner paid.

Well given the $300 in parts is fine but keep in mind the dealer gets stuck with the repair bill if anything goes wrong. I have put new bars and cables on three other bikes (metrics) and I just really didn't feel like doin another one. I guess lazy cost me $650 oh well I just know they feel great.
