Rear tire should be 12,000 - 15,000. Front depends on if you have a 19" or 21" tire. With 19" 15,000 is easy on stock tire. 21" is gonna be about half that.
All of this also depends on riding conditions, maintaining proper air pressure, etc etc.
Lots of variables to consider (tire compound, riding style, conditions, etc.). Should get 8K-10K if you're moderate - hard rider...more if you're easy on the throttle.

My rear tire was replaced at 6000 miles. The replacement has lasted 16,000 miles so far. The front tire is still original. 22,000 miles on it. But it needs to be replaced.
Let's just say that I'm not seeing as high of milage as most of these other posts. 8-10K rear and 10 to 12K front average with the last three sets, (dunlops, Metz's, and now Avon's).
I changed my front 21" Dunlop tire at about 15,000. My rear tire if its original has 17,000 miles on it. The bike had 9000 miles when I bought it. I can stick a penny in the tread and Abe's head is covered down to his hair line. I have a trip in June from SC to TX. Think I better change it before then. Buddy blew a rear on a road king on the I. Almost wiped out before he could get it stopped!
I saw about 18K on the rear and I'm not sure on the front. It was at about 20K, not needing to be replaced, when I went down. That was a 19" front and a 150 wide rear on my 99.
