Sputter and backfire... help?!?!

IT"S LEAN! You increased the air flow and didn't add any fuel to the charge. The cold temps are going to make it seem even worse. Re-jet that thing.

sound like a leak at the intake spray some carb cleaner and see what happens
is the hypercharger for sale??

+1 on this and checking for a leak. Plus, was the bike warmed up with choke in & heads warm to the touch, or was the choke still out?
Oh, plus you may need to re-jet the carb anyway since you'll probably flow more air in now. Not many people like the hypercharger. I like my BSII.
