He is a member here....I was just lucky enough to find it posted for sale....It looks much better in person than the pictures show. I bought it about a month before I got the bike....I love it. Thanks for the kind words.

Heres mine, stripped. I ordered a 4.5 gallon tank from J&P this weekend.
Going to go with some old HD logos on it, I'll post some pics when its done.

sorry to resurrect an old thread

rickthewelder... that looks good man.! did you brush it yourself or have someone else add that to the raw steel? also did you clear coat it or leave it bare? if clear coated... what did you use to prevent the gas from eating away at it

lol i figured that right after the post. what i did read was you can either powdercoat it clear twice over. or just keep it bare and use wd40 or metal cleaner every once and a while

The stock tank is pretty as it is. The hard candy is the best paint job I have seen on any brand of motorcycle.

I agree completely. I love my hard candy tank, and don't mind the 'FORTY EIGHT' lettering on it either.

Matter of fact, I like it so much I have them in almost all candy colors they produced. Silver, Gold, Red, Volcanic Orange. I think the only one missing is the blue. Have the 2012 version blue though, and the Blackened cayenne.

These tanks will be collectible items.
