I don't know why this is such a hard search. For inspection and just the ease of riding i need to find a speedo that is not in MPH but in KPH. but i am coming up empty handed... anyone have advice. am i missing somewhere to look

tried a few different ebay's in other countries but they all seem like just MPH except the newer ones are both mph and kph but they won't work on my 97

 

Maybe try dealerships in canada or europe, you can also go with an aftermarket digital guage, most of them will display both scales.

 

Man dealer prices will probably be insane, but all the ebay sites, uk, europe, japan, canada just seem to come up with mph clusters. is it possible they didn't even make a kph for that year range? I suppose I could check with the harley dealer here... but they wanted like $300 for a damn battery, i can only imagine what they want for a cluster.

or some of the gps units show speed right?

 

Maybe contact Zippers Performance about the Thundermax Speedo, I didn't see which years it was for, but it can be switched to KPH.

 

If you have a MPH speedo, I would just make a sticker and put it over the MPH scale. That's what I would do.

You know i just popped something in my head. I dealt with a guy who re-designed my gauge overlay on my cavalier. blackcatcustoms.com i wonder if her could just make me a new overlay for the tach and speedo...

are these needles removable?

 

Inspection? Mines been out for 2 years and also with registration and the Houston cops wave or nod when they pass me. I never thought anyone really gave a **** when it came to bikes. A lot of MC's are illegal out there. Join our crowd.

 

Japanese inspections can be ruff out here. depending on who is inspecting it they can get pissy.
