LOL
When did that happen? Back in the 70s I rode a Bonnie chop that not only ate Harleys for breakfast lunch and dinner but would smoke most Jap bikes other than the big KZs and road going two strokes. In fact todays Bonneville will beat any 883 and give most 1200s a good run for thier money.Back to the point though, I like the Sportster BECAUSE it was patterend after the brit bikes which were always more of a sporting machine than anything built in America at the time.
ate the British twins for lunch.

ORIGINAL: Broken Leg Rider So it's true. The ladies can ride any scooter, as long as they bring a parking boy
I am going to have to take offense to that comment. I can back my bike into any space you can....and I ride a WideGlide! [:@]
Rah....I'm not going to lock it yet unless it gets out of control....which I'm sure it will eventually!

RE: Sportster a girls bike?
Speaking of girls bikes I tried to get my wife interested in a Sportster, mostly because I always wanted one.She told me point blank they're too slow. When I got my Harley I made the mistake of giving her my last bike a 2000 Suzuki Sv650 which she never tires of pointing out is faster than my 06 Street Bob.

RE: Sportster a girls bike?
In the most recent sales data from harley..only 10% of harley buyers are women. The 10% is spread out among all models. There is no girls bike Harley makes. In fact, of the people I pass every day I would guess only 5-10% are women. Harley sales people might tell guys it is a girls bike in order to get them to step from the $7-9K range up to the $14-20K range for more commission. I would really like to see more women buying bikes and see them on the road and I dont care what bike they ride including the metrics. I am a harley shareholder and I think women are a large untaped market for motorcycle sales.
Here is my question:
If a sportster is a girls bike, Why dont more women buy it?
