Battery charging - does this work? is it safe?

It seems as though my battery is dead. I need to charge it and as we all know it is a major PITA to remove the battery. Is it safe to connect the clamps on the charger to the clamps on my pigtail connector for my tender and attach that to the pigtail from the battery?
Will this charge the battery? is it safe to connect it like that?
If not on either account, what are my alternatives to removing the battery? Can i connect the positive clamp directly to the battery terminal and connect the negative to anything else thats grounded - maybe the dolly that the bike is on?

No.....if you follow the wire from the battery to the pigtail you'll see that the exposed pin is the Negative pin and the enclosed pin is the positive pin. That keeps the + pin from shorting out on the bike. When you plug your clamps in to your pigtail, you'll see that you just reversed your clamps. The clamps are made to plug into your trickle charger.
You can do it that way BUT you'll have to hook the black clamp to the red clamp of the charger. And the red clamp to the black clamp on the charger.
Hooking it up the way you have it in the pic. Polarity is reversed. Trace your wires and you'll see what I'm saying.
