I've got chrome ISO grips on mine with throttle boss and I love them. They're a bit bigger in diameter than the standard grips but I suffered with numb thumb and forefinger before. These have eliminated all of that, they're very comfortable and the throttle boss is great for longer distance cruising.

Also got cats paw footpegs and gear shifter in chrome which are a good match to the grips. My right foot used to move around on the standard peg but the cats paws are really grippy and much more comfortable.

My fella liked my grips so much he got the same fitted to his 1200R and he's just bought the same footpegs too

Might just about be able to make out the pegs on my bike

I got the throttle boss as well, I really like it.
I'll give my new grips and bars another few 100 miles before I make up my mind.
I'm like the looks of those Nash grips.

In everyones expert opinion. do you think it's the new grips, bars, or a combo of both that's causing the new pain?
I did an avg. of 1500 miles a month last here and hope to do more this year. I might have to go back to stock bars for now.
Thanks the info, some good looking bikes out there

My opinion isn't very "expert" I'm afraid - I can only draw on what I have personally experienced.

Is it only with your thicker winter gloves your hand was hurting? I find that my clutch hand hurts when I wear my thicker gloves, but I'm pretty sure it's because I have such small hands and a combination of the grip size and very stiff clutch are to blame for me. But I am still far more comfortable with the ISO grips as they eliminate the vibration, which used to make my thumb go numb. And will be having the clutch assist thingy fitted soon anyway

For you it could well be a combination of the bars and the grips affecting the position your hand sits in when you ride. That can affect the circulation to your thumb. Is it while you're cruising or town riding? Or both?

I'm sure someone with much more useful information will be along soon to help you out anyway

I've got Harley Nostalgia grips on my 48 and like others have said I can't praise them enough!

I'm replacing my stock grips soon, may end up going with black drag bars and chrome grips. I like accutronix knurled billet grips.

I too have these for the exact same reason, numb thumb and tingly fingers. These eliminated all that. I can ride 370 miles plus with no issues now.

Not going numb at all. Just sore right where my thumb goes into my hand. Have rode with the same gloves with the stock set up with no problems. Has been too cold to put any miles on with my normal gloves.

Sounds like the size of the grips if that's what's happening. They are noticeably 'thicker' grips than the stock ones so obviously aggravating your hand in that spot

I have the HD Black diamond grips on my iron, I picked them because the way they felt but I think that they look pretty sick with the black paint. Overall I would say they are comfortable enough and enjoyable to ride with and without gloves.

A pain in my hand is making it a pain in the ***... And wallet.

Here I thought I was done spending money on the bike for a bit.
