Default NO BREAK LIGHTS ! Help !

Hey everyone

So I went out today to start the bike and and was going to take it for a quick ride arond town being we finally have some sun. However as I was backing it out of the garabe I noticed there was no difference in the rear lights when I grabbed the break opposed to when I was just rolling in reverse. Upon further inspection it seems that my break lights are stuck in the on position even if no break is being applied ... any suggestions on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated. BTW its a 2010 iron and this is the first I have had of this problem

Did you check to see if the bulbs are in the right way? I had my front signal bulb in wrong the other day and it was stuck "on"

Are they not working with both the front and rear break?
How about when you use your signals? Do they flash?

The bulbs are def in the right way I havent touched them and until now they have been working.

And the fronts are fine, all the blinkers work it seems like somehow the brakes are slighly being pulled even when fully released. I took the front control off to see if the front break was pulled in that didn't fix it.

Is it possible it could be a fuse ? But I think that if it was a blown fuse they wouldn't work, not be constantly on...

You probably have a bad front brake switch.

I had this same problem yesterday and it turned out to be my front brake switch. I was messing with the grips and bars recently and I think I must have moved or damaged it. I tried several times to reassemble it but after a couple pulls of the brake lever the switch would get pushed into the housing again and the same problem occured. I ended up opening the housing that holds the switch and made a small spacer to hold the switch out far enough for it to contact the brake lever when it's released. This fixed my problem temporarily but I still dont know why it occured in the first place and need to look into it. Possibly replace the switch all together? Hope that helps some. Good luck.

Unplug one of the leads on the rear brake light switch. If the brake lights go off, the switch is bad - $14 at any HD dealer. If the lights stay on, it's the front switch - probably.

Yea I looked at it again today and when I push the switch it wih my hand they go off, made some adjustments but after a full pulls they get stuck on again, I have to take it for its 1k service this week and the Dealer said the switch is still covered under warranty so hopefully wont cost anything other than the $275 for 1k service.

Thanks everyone for the info and advice !
