Help with imperial bolt size's
Hi all,
well its been over 45 years since this country adopted the metric system so it's quite an effort locating imperial threaded nuts and bolts and i need to order some, just thread size will do.. the 3 bolts that mount the A/C ,the two bolts that mount the ham tin cover to the A/C and the size to replace the front indicator adjustable thingy(moving the indicators). Thanks H.

I don't know the bolt sizes since I sold the Sporty but I can tell you the conversion factor is 25.4mm/inch. Just measure the threaded dia. and convert it. Then count the number of threads per inch (25.4mm span) and that's the thread pitch. IE: a 1/4-20 bolt is .250"(6.35mm) and has 20 threads in a 1"(25.4mm) span.
Working with customer part blueprints (from all over the world) and engineers all day I honestly don't see why we don't adopt the metric system here. We're just stubburn Americans I guess.

Without going out to take off the one's on my bike,I think you're looking at 1/4"-5/16" unc,but I'd have to check to be sure.I'm sure someone will turn up and know for sure.A little tip...Whitworth thread Is almost the same as unc and can be used, except for the 1/2" diameter.

Metric is certainlly more user friendlly As a scuba instructor I always uae the example 1Oliter cyl@200BAR holds 2000 litres of air ...as to
610in/3 CYL @ 32940 PSI holds 122047 cubic inches of air
We had to do our instucters training in both boy did we swet the conversions.
