I almost always make the whole trip from start to finish no matter how far the trip is.....whether it's 50 miles or 500 miles/etc.

I've done 650 miles in a day on my 1200. It would be no different on an 883. The only thing that is different is engine size, and that's not going to limit anything at legal speed limits. The frame and thus riding position are the exact same.
Long story short, if the bike is set up properly for you and what you want it to do you can ride it where ever and as far as you want.

From Seattle down to Death Valley, over to Vegas, up through Nevada, into Idaho and back home. Great solo ride!

Sounds good to me... I didn't think many people would do such long runs, since the fuel tank is so small. I'm in between the iron and the superlow right now, as they were the two bikes I felt the most confortable with.
