Good luck with whatever ya do
The swingarm won't give me more leg room, and it won't bring the neck of the bike up where I want it. I'm going to cut it after the front lower motor mounts, so the motor will be in the same position on the frame, and I should only need a longer belt and to move the upper motor mount.

So your plan is to extend the rear mount? That's like the core mount for your drivetrain.

The whole reason for this is I'm 6'4'', I need more room, and eventually a bigger motor. I'd like to do an arched backbone, but I don't feel comfortable in messing with the neck of the bike, I'm a good welder, but I don't want to modify the neck if I can help it. I'm just wondering if anyone has done this before on here, if they could give me some tips on where I should cut it.
I cut up a few. I also raked the neck on the ones i did. Your 4",4",4" will not work out but doesn't really matter. Cut the frame on the straight parts makes the job allot easier. Cut under the motor, cut at the lower part of the down tubes.Cut the back bone where ever you want to add a piece. What I did was make up some slugs 2" longer than the length I wanted to add.I used solid steel round stock turned down each end 1" to the i.d. of the frame tube.used stock the same o.d as the frame tube.then you can put the slugs in the frame and weld around them.makes for a strong extension. As mreed said when you go up with the down tubes you will also go out with the backbone, thats why the 4" wont work there. As I said doesn't matter when you have the frame mocked up with the extensions in the lower part and the down tubes you can measure to get the correct length for the backbone piece. The backbone will have to be pipe at an angle so the straight slugs will not work.

And you will have to extend both your upper and lower front motor mounts. You wont have to mess with the rear mount or your belt. easy as pie.......

I guess that is easier than moving the rear mount. I'll have to wait and see if the motor looks goofy with the frame extended out in front of it or not.

Yeah its allot easier to extend the fronts. I think it will look better. I like the look. Wish I had taken more pics over the years I could show you how it will look. My boy wants to do his bike so I'll have pics then.Just not sure what all he wants to do yet.
