Default Is this a good deal or not?

I'm a first time poster who joined the forum today. However, I've been reading the threads for a few months now and there's definitely a lot of Harley knowledge on this forum. I recently purchased a 2007 HD Nightster, orange and black, with 1418 miles on it for $6,000. Cosmetically, the bike looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. This is the third Sportster I have owned, with the last being a 1980 purchased in 1983. It's good to be back in the saddle once again, so to speak, after almost 30 years of not owning a bike. So my question is this: did I get a super deal, an ok deal, or did I pay about the going price for a 2007 Nightster? Also, is there a fuel warning light on a 2007 and, if so, where is it located? Unfortunately, the owners manual was not included with the bike. Thanks for you input.

You got a good deal,no question about it. I saw a 2008 Nightster get stolen on ebay the other night for $5200 but that bike was probably worth closer to $7000. You did good.

You are really the only one who can answer that question. Are you happy with the bike and with what you paid for it? If you're happy, you got a good deal. If you're thinking to yourself "Did I get a good deal or get screwed?" Chances are...

It is a little late to ask whether it is a "good" deal since you already bought it. If you think it is then it is, if not it isn't. Be happy you have it and ride it like you stole it, enjoy what you have and what you like to do. cheers

I ride an '07 Nightster also. And yes there is a low fuel light. I believe it lights up on the lower left hand side of the speedometer. It's been so long since I got mine that low I don't remember exactly which side it lights up on.

Based on what you have said IMO you got a very good deal. I paid 6250 for my as new 2008 nightster with 1850 on the clock last fall. Enjoy its a great bike...watch those footpegs in the corners till you get used to her, shes a bit on the low side

Hey, thanks guys. I appreciate your quick responses. I absolutely love how the bike rides and its "old school" appearance. I would have paid retail on a new Nightster and was headed in that direction before I located the 2007. However, the reason I asked the question about whether it was a good deal or not is because the wife fronted me the money to buy the darn thing. One of my strategies for getting the bike, and the loan, was convincing her what a good deal it was and I had to snap the deal up immediately. I'm glad some of you confirmed that it was a good deal. Now the PW comments can begin. Thanks again.
