hey guys - had a search of the forums but no luck.

im installing a dakota digital guage on my 2010 sporty - it has a redline warning function on it that you have to set.

anyone have any idea what the rev redline is on a stock 883 sporty?

many thanks guys

Ride safe

dont know what it is, but you can set it to the max value, then ride the bike and see where you top out, and then back the limit down.

You would have a 6000RPM redline if I recall correctly.

If you had a built motor, I would set it as I do my shift light.

Look at the dynosheet to find your preferred shift point (in my case just past the torque peak) and set the light at that rpm.

On a stock bike it's kind of irrelevant. Your rev limiter on the bike will keep you out of trouble.

Dan at NRHS has told me that the stock springs are ok to about 6200rpms. The bottom end would handle more but the springs and valve compontents should be upgraded over 6200.

Cammed correctly, 6200 is plenty. Lose some longivity when you start playing above that too often.
