Default 8" higher and 3" of extra pullback for cheap?

Hi there,

In August I got an 2002 883C. The guy who had the bike replaced the stock bars with drag bars. They look nice, but I am leaning forward a little and my arms are not leveled with my shoulders which makes handling sometimes awkward.

Ideally, I would like to have my hands 8" higher and about 3" closer to the chest (3" extra pullback). I'm 6'. I am on a budget, pretty tight. I was wondering if any of you has an idea how I could make that change without braking my wallet?

If you have pics, on top of that!

Thanks!

Vinny.

Let me ad a picture to give you an idea of what I have right now:

Just my two cents. If you don't have a buffet maker (windshield), the forward lean is helpful and comfortable when cruising above 45 mph. I've got drag bars on my 1200C. The configuration you are describing is asking for the "kite in the wind" scenario. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it. I can't stand a windshield and its buffeting. I've had apes, now I have drag bars.

Default other issue

I got a 883L and I didn't realized the fact till I got it home in Sept

and I am 6'1 the PO had a 6" pull back riser on it and flat top drag bars .

so I had to change the ot straight 4" risers to get my arms level and straight ... and forward controls and the tall air shock other wise I bottom out ... you can always get an inexpensive like new riser off Ebay like I did for 22 dollars.

good luck great forum here

I have a 07 883 which I am taking off the bars and cables that you want. They are in new condition as the bike only had 3000 miles on it when I purchased it 3 months ago. If you want I will sell the complete set to you for$200.00. Hope this helps. let me know.

Well I wouldn't agree with that When I cruise over 45MPH I have to make an extra effort to "keep" my hands on the handlebars. I think that having more pullback will help me stay more relax without having to hold on to the bars even more.
