I got a 2007 XL1200 Low as a first bike, then I got a 1975 XLCH 1000 as a second bike, so I guess yes is the answer.

I'm a workin man, can't afford two bikes,,
could only ride one at a time D
My Sporty does everything I ask of It.
2008 1200 Roadster

If I could afford a second Bike I'd like an old dyna basket case, or bike in boxes
a real P.O.S.
I'd like to start at the bare frame and completly tear down the engine,,
an get ta wrenchin.

I hear ya, my "ORIGINAL" plan was to get an older EVO softy and trick it out. Now I'm tossing the idea of a Dyna or a maybe even a shortster back into the mix. I do see a lot of cool looking Shorties on here, and the idea of a good entry price is very enticing. I had a good time on my 05, and being carb'd it did have that potato potato sound, my current bike does not.

And dig this, last night I was looking on CL and my wife sits down by me and says (as I'm showing her a bike) "Is this a bike I can ride?" I've been asking her if she'd ever want to ride her own bike, and she said she was happy being on the back. Truthfully, I am torn, I really do like her riding with me and just didn't want the worry of her on her own bike. But if she really has changed her mind, maybe I should get a bike she can ride, and if she decides it's not for her, I'll still have it as a second bike.

Which, of course, will mean I need to get a bike that is reliable and not an older bike to tinker with. Decisions, decisions.

I have 07 Road King, wife, 08 Deluxe. We, I mean me, bought an 08 1200 Low, anniversay Sportster as a 2nd bike, but never ride it (only 500+ miles) so will try and sell in the spring...not sure why I wanted a second bike (did not really need one) but have always liked the Sportys!!
