Default Need question answer about changing wheels????

Hello ladies and gents

I found two mag wheels and wanted to buy them but I want to know if they will fit. I have called 4 different Harley shops around me but can't give me a straight answer or WTH?

Anyway,

1st Wheel) Front 19 inch mag wheel from 2001 HD Sportster 883.

2nd Wheel) Rear 16 inch mag wheel from 2005 HD Sportster Roadster 1200

My question is will these wheels fit on my 2007 nightster?

Yep. You'll need to get the bearings and inner spacers to make them fit the axles but they will go. You may also need to mess with the wheel spacers a little bit but either way anything you may have to do is very minimal.

+1 - the only real "possible" headache, is finding wheel spacers that fit correctly if your stock ones aren't right. If you run into trouble with the spacers and can't machine them yourself, a good Indy shop will probably have a bunch of misc spacers you can pick through. I've also had to use some small washers to shim the brake caliper so it lines up just right.

Also, be careful ordering bearings for that 2001 wheel, I believe they were not sealed bearings back then and the OD on the bearings is different than it is on the later models.

My change was a nightmare. A great HD parts guy saved the day for me and I could not be happier now.

I think 01 was the first year for sealed bearings.

If you need spacers you can cut some PVC until you get the right length then have them made but chances are a pre made spacer is available. The stock rear spacers for the 05 and the stock front spacers for the 01 will work.

I forgot I had to shim my front caliper too...but still, pretty damn simple.

There's no reason at all for it to be a nightmare. Just fit it before you ride it. I do it all of the time.

Ha ha! If I had one apart I'd do all of the fitting here & ship em to you so it's a direct fit.
