That right there being true for the past...oh...at least 10 years...is main reason I would NOT use them. Why have a bike "just like the next guy...and the guy after him...and the guy after him..."

V$H makes good quality products, some don't make the most HP but on the street it doesn't matter that much. I have SS on my softail and love them and they are loud, and my bike is defined by more than just the exaust...to each their own,,,I just hate to see a good company put down.

 

I love the short shots, such a classic exhaust. If I had to get another exhaust it'd definitely be the D&D bobcat 2 into 1.

 

does anyone know if V&H short shots have removable heat shields? the pipes that came with my bike has heat wrap and i'm not sure i like the look.

 

Yes, you could either order the short shots with a chrome or matte black heat shields. Wrapping them has become a popular option. There's a couple people selling their heat shields in the classifieds section.

I wouldn't say they suck. They're perfect for someone who wants to pay over $400 for a set of slip-ons that are the same as stock.
