Have you ever tried to fill the pipe with water, freeze it, then try to bend it?
I know they do this when making instruments so they don't lose the shape while they bend the brass.

Lol. It would be an interesting conversation but she's used to it. When I turn nylon bushings on the lathe I freeze them first to keep them from wobbling around. She bought me a fridge for the garage because of that...and to keep me from tracking metal shavings through the house when I want a drink.
