Default writing on the tires

OK, the 48 came from the dealership with some sort of numbers written on the tires. Any tricks to get it off? Tried several things with no luck

I'd take it back and ask them to clean it off. Or...for a new tire.

Have you tried mineral spirits and if that doesn't work try some laquer thinner, just use a little on a rag........If that doesn't work try a razor blade to cut that section out

i'd use mileage to remove them.

or a semi-stiff brush and a cleaner that will cut wax.

Acetone. Buy it at Lowes or Home Depot in the chemical aisle.

Hope you didn't pay them for prep. Did you knock that out yet prospect?

I would suggest caution when trying to clean this.

I worked in the rubber industry for years and know a little about the interaction of solvents and rubber compounds.

The use of some solvents could cause the rubber to deteriorate and possibly fail. You may not see damage immediately but it could cause the rubber in the area exposed to the solvent to weaken.

I would suggest mild cleaners and perhaps a stiff bristle brush. If that does not remove the lettering then you might want to learn to live with it or just replace the tire.

Asking the dealer to clean it may result in them using an inappropriate solvent also so you might want to discuss this with them before you allow them to attempt any cleaning.
