I showed this post to my buddy. He did the air cleaner set up and then couldnt decide what to do for a crank case breather set up. He finally decided he wanted to make a crank case breather set up out of copper and wanted me to post it to share with you guys and see what you think.
Heres his air cleaner mounted up. The same one from auto zone. 12 bucks.
Here are the copper parts he bought. About 15 bucks all together.

Bolts too long...here is a solution
The stock bolts that hold the filter are too long so you can either cut them or try and find some shorter ones...
or use a piece of tubing as a washer like this...
But...there is a gap in between the throttle body face and the carb bracket. I sniffed around until I found a rubber spacer that came with a pair of iso grips for my old bike. I cut it in half long ways and siliconed it onto the face of the carb bracket.
You can see the rubber I am using as a spacer when I was test fitting everything. A done deal waiting on Mreeds breather bolts he made for me.
Thanks mreed, this was a fun project.

This stuff is awesome. My '10 Nighster will be here next Friday....now I know what to do for my first mod. I was looking at the RSD filters....f'in sweet but along with sweetness is a not so friendly price tag. With this setup I am going to design my own cover. But I am new to carbs, and jetting, and tuning. As a noob am i going to have to take my bike to the local Harley Dealer and have them "tune" it up after I put on my personal A/C?

I don't want to start a debate on what method is best but the options are out there. Search around this forum for some thoughts.
I'm working on some covers too. Post pics of yours when you get around to it.
And welcome aboard!

What kind of damage...to the pocket...am i going to be looking at? That is if/when i have to take it in to the dealer. Sorry, I am more of the electronics type and not much of a mechanic(yet), but i like to get my hands dirty....i'll get this all this throttle body and carb stuff down soon enough.
