After reading another thread I'm curious, who likes and dislikes the 48's tank design.

1- I love it so much I'm gonna get a tatoo of it.
2- I really like it.
3- I don't really like it.
4- It makes me want to puke.

 

Gonna get my tank re-painted to get rid of it. I know its a Sportster so I dont need a large logo telling me that it is!

 

I'm going to get it tattooed on my *** on my 48th bday. Na not really but I do think it is good looking for a decal. Better than the one I have on my standard.

 

I dont even have my 48 yet.....but I have a freshly painted tank sitting here ready to put on the minute I get the bike home from the dealer.

 

I voted as really liking the decal. It looks vintage and cheesy and that's how it was back in the day. I repainted my tank and purposely bought a vintage decal because I got tired of people asking me - - - "what kind of bike is that?" LOL

People need to stop complaining about the decal or the tank size and only getting 90 miles per fill up. I swapped my ugly 4.5 gal for a smashed 3.3 and put it on. If I could have found a 2.2 with a breather hole and petcock I would have gone that route. the 3.3 was my SECOND choice.

 

Just had my tank repainted. The humongous logo made me want to puke. Well, not quite but almost.

Seriously, I almost bought a Dyna instead of the 48, just because of that stupid-looking oversized tank logo that was COMPLETELY out of character with the retro bobber look of an otherwise great looking bike.

 

That logo is not out-of-character at all. Highly disagree....

 

It would be awesome if the "sportster" was a ghost graphic, but on my 48 I hate it.

 

I really don't care for any of the HD decal crap. People who matter know its an HD. People who don't matter, who gives a shlt what they think anyway. I don't need a decal to tell me that its a harley. Emblems are slightly better and there are some that i really like, but some emblems are crap too. Just paint is always better in my humble opinion.

 

I wouldnt say the logo was completely out of character for the 48...heck the font was similar to something you would have seen back then and the writing was big and bold....just like the 48. As far as liking/disliking it Im kinda indifferent. Somedays I dont mind it, other days I hate it. Mine is off ride now and should be back from the painter's on Friday. Not really because I didnt like the decal, but because I wanted to do something different.
