Going to pick up my first bike tonight !
Tonight after work I'm going down to Gator Harley to pick up my bike. I took the advice of several riders here and decided to get a cheaper used bike until I get more ride time. Gator Harley had a good deal on a 2005 XL883L. They are getting it cleaned up for me now, can't wait, I'm so excited!

Congrats and enjoy. It's a good feeling to go pick up the bike and bring her home. Better than Christmas morning to a 5 yr old that just got their first, well, Bike... (sorry cant ride it till the snow is gone.) or do what I did, ride it in the kitchen. Oh wait, that was my bike when I was 5, not my motorcycle.

Congrats on yer First Bike !!
Listen carefully,,,
When your going slow, very slow,,keep your hand OFF/AWAY from
the front brake !!
It will throw you to the ground,,,,,,,
That bike Is almost 600Lbs,,,,you ain't strong enuff !!!
Rider safety couse,,,DO IT,,,
This MSF course don't mean your ready for the Mean streets.
Do Braking drills...lots of em,,,
Start every ride with five minutes of braking drills,,that'll give yer tires
time to warm up,,Cold tires are slippery.
Stay out of traffic for the first few rides,,go out at day break when the
roads are empty...
Do NOT follow your riding buddies into a curve,,Odds are they will
make It and you won't,,,Learn to Turn that thang.
Think before you ride,,,Tire pressure, Tires free of things sticking out??
Use your hands,,feel the tires...move the bike,,feel the rest of the tires.
Lights,,,Oil,,,,Gas,,,brake check,,
Tuck your boot laces In tight,,,,,
WEAR A HELMET,,,boots, gloves, jacket,,,,
Oh and WEAR A HELMET,,,,,,
Keep your eyes moving,,,,stop lookin at yer speedo !
Become a master with brakes,,
Learn what trail braking Is and how to do it,,,
Learn to use throttle and brakes "IN THE CURVES" to change direction
and to stabilize the bike.
Throttle controls the size of your tire contact patches front and rear,,
It also helps "stand the bike up" after the corner apex to properly exit the turn,,,,,
There Is more Much more,,,
Oh yeah don't forget to excersice your face muscles every day or
the silly chit eatin grin won't ever come off XD
