Default Lower Belt Guard ?

Is the lower belt guard needed, I have a 2006 Custom???? Thought it would look better w/o it.

I have all my belt guards removed I guess theres always that possibility that a rock might kick up, hit your belt and possibly damage it? hell I dont even have my sprocket cover on; its up to you; although theres always that risk I guess.

Yea like Garcia said its not "NEEDED" but without them you run the risk of something happening to it ... I took mine off and it does look better without it !

I have had mine off since day one with no problems, and yes a sportster looks way better without upper & lower belt guards.

I took both of mine off and the sprocket cover and it looks so much better without. There is a chance something could happen even with them on so ill take the cooler looks any day

I took mine of the end of summer last year and have run it through the winter it chucks up a bit more **** on the bike but looks far better with out, as for the lower guard I don't even really notice it, well as all thing its your choice I suppose.

You can take it off. There is a slight chance a rock might get up in there, but I don't see that happening.
