Pull-Back Handle Bars for the XL1200R?
Has anyone found and installed a more comfortable pull-back handle bar for the XL1200R than the stock drag bar? After putting 100 miles on my new Roadster, I find that I'm leaning a little too far forward and getting some fatigue in my back[:@] that I think a 4" or so set of pull-back bars would relieve. I've searched the Harley catalog and about all I've found are some buckhorns and mini-ape bars as a replacement, but I don't know if any of them would really solve my comfort issue.
If anyone has swapped out the stock bars and found greater comfort in a slightly more up-right ride, I'd love to hear about your choice of replacement and what was required to make the swap (i.e., longer electrical harness, cable swaps, etc.).
Thanks in advance for anyone's experience!

RE: Pull-Back Handle Bars for the XL1200R?
Thumper, I have an XL1200C and have the same problem with my bars. I have to lean too far forward and my back and neck ache after about 50 miles. I just purchased pull back bars for the 1200C from HD. I would think the same bars should work for the 1200R also. They bring the bars up and back a few inches. They do require recabling of the clutch, throttle and brake. All in all about $350 in parts. I am waiting on my cables to come in (should be today or tomorrow) then my hubby is going to install. Hopefully in the next few days. I will post pics and and give a full comfort report.

Heather,
Thanks for the info and I gotta tell you I've been following your post on the new bars. (not TOO much pressure on Sean's install - eh? - LOL!!)
The problem is, the catalog shows your new bars are for the Custom ONLY which really disappointed me because they look like they will defintely solve your problem on that good lookin' silver custom. (congrats again! - a really nice looking ride!)
Hey, anyone out there had success putting Heather's new bars on athe XL1200R???

My wife has an 883, and I replaced the stock bars with some RoadKing bars I bought on e-bay. Needed to extend the front brake cable, re-route the throttle cable, and extend the wiring. But, having a happy wife was worth the hassle.

When I bought mine it had 4 inch risers and buckhorns. The buckhorns were hard to adjust to my liking. There was a fine line in adjust them. They were either just right, too far forward, or look like they were back in my pocket. Also, when I changed to a quickbob gas tank the bars hit the dash.
I installed some 1 1/2 inch risers with some Dyna WideGlide bars. Many more positions to chose from to suit your riding style. Here's a bigger pic.
