Man, that brutal cold weather really sucks, so I promise I won't say a word about my 100 plus mile ride yesterday in 70* sunny weather. Not even gonna mention it.

I know frustration. I'm in VT and going cabin whacky. Riding in the winter is crazy - cold, black ice, sand, and salt. Last year I started the day after St Pat's Day, but this year I am hoping for an early break in the weather. It can't come too soon - temp this am is -2 F!

It's not how cold it is, it's how good your gear is. My gear is good for 24 degrees.

Did a 100 mile ride yesterday, but it was in high 50's. Winter only comes ever few days and then its gone for a few days here in the Republic of Texas.

Sorry guys. Here in North Carolina this winter it's been ride, don't ride, ride, don't ride! It's supposed to be 45 and dry today. Ride!

It's been cool here in Atlanta following our winter storm last week. The city handled that very well last week, according to Georgia government officials. Yeah, right...

Anyway, with mid to upper 40's this weekend, I put in a few miles on my '76 Ironhead yesterday and plan to get in a good run today on Jewel, my '09 XL883C. It's warm enough to ride comfortably with appropriate layers, but with a heated jacket liner it's quite comfortable in these temps.

Future plans are to add the heated pants liner and gloves. I recommend these to anyone who would like to seriously extend the riding season during winter.

If its above 31 degrees(Kansas) and the roads are clear...definitely ride. Watch out for the sand....but usually if you stay in the lanes you will only encounter slight bad spots. Will be spring before the street sweepers are in action again, but usually traffic wipes em clear enough to head out.

Oh, and if you have to ask why I'm yelling, you wouldn't understand.
No hard feelings Cap-i-tan...just giving you a hard time since every time I see your avatar, the post starts with "I just sold my sporty and got a buell..."

As for forgiveness, granted. Now go stare at your Buell some more ... remember keep your hands out of your pants.

No problem. I get a bit defensive sometimes. Could be worse, I could have started with "I sold my Sporty and bought a Honda". That was very nearly the case before I found the Buell. I almost bought a CBR but my heart just kept saying "Buell".

I would love to stare at the new ride some more but it's in my unheated garage and it been hovering right around the single digit mark lately. I'd just about kill to be able to ride it. That would be the reason for the shouting in my original post.
