Default stereo suggestions for a nightster

Hey guys, I have been looking at some stereo options for my Nightster.
I am looking at the handlebar mounted systems.
I need something loud that will be heard over the vance and hines pipes on my bike.
Anybody done this and have any suggestions?
I looked at several systems already and dont mind spending around 4 bills or so for something that will be better than typical.

Thanks in advance for any help.

iPhone with Sony or Bose in-ear noise-canceling earphones.

Also, Vance and Hines makes a nice stereo system. Songs can get a little mundane, but you never have to worry about shuffling the discs.

There are sunglasses on eBay with mp3 player built in with earphones that swing down to your ears. I was thinking about trying those.

You might not be able to hear a handlebar system at speed without a windshield. Even with a windshield, your pipes might be too loud. I've never tried one, so I can't say. I use helmet speakers that fit nicely in my 3/4 helmet without mucking-up my bars. In some states (like The Commonwealth of Virginia), ear buds are illegal two at a time but helmet speakers are OK. I also use a pocket amplifier in-line between my mp3 player and speakers.
Good luck and let us know what you end up with.
The amp I use:

Seriously, I would think you'd need some serious wattage in order to hear it over the wind (no windshield/fairing) and a nice exhaust.
