help about riser and tank lift

Yeah, make sure you prop the tank up properly (using a 2x4 and a rag). I didn't have anything proper sitting around and I was too impatient to wait or get something, and even up using a pair of slip-joint pliers to give me about 7 inches. It's a bitch trying to wrap the wires with so little space, especially when the tank keeps falling.
Also, I don't think you have to disconnect the fuel line.

It's just something many of us do. I feel like it cleans up the lines of the frame and accentuates the cylinder heads - from the coil relocate, not so much the ignition.
One thing I really like about it is that it keeps folks guessing about the bike - not many Sporty's with coils and keys between the heads.

I have 4.5" risers that curved towards the tank on my 05 1200 C and what I had to do was reverse the risers to lean forward instead and that worked out nicely. I also repleced my 4.5 g. tank with a 3.3 g. tank from an 883.
Word of advice: get straight risers and you shouldn't have issues with bars.
I'll have new pics very soon in my album.

The beauty if raising the tank. (just did it to mine a week or so ago) is that all those wires running through those ugly plastic covers ('07 nightster here) now can be ran along the top of the frame, thru the tunnel in the bottom of the tank that is meant to straddle the frame. Only took me about 4 hours work to do that and the coil/ignition relocation the others have posted about. Could probably be done in less time but I didn't see any need to hurry.
