Maybe you ought to just settle down and get a geezer glide. I can see in your sig pic that you ride in a racing posture. If you ain't hurt like you were before, maybe you have used up all your bad luck! Think positive man!

It's easy for the monday morning quarterbacks to second guess your decision, but you're the only one whose opinion really matters. Maybe all the wrecks have made you gunshy, and riding with white knuckles worrying about whether you're going to die around the next curve is no way to ride. But since you didn't title the thread "what should I do?", it sounds like you're already made the call. But just remember that nobody gets out of here alive anyway.

It's a tough personal decission to swing a leg over after a wreck. Good luck!

The streets are mean out there even in a cage.

Sorry to hear about your wreck, how big was the pot hole? Here is NE Ohio the roads are crap and I have hit a few big ones, but so far so good. Well take some time off and see how you feel.

Sorry to hear about your wreck. I hate hearing these stories, but in the end, I think it is good for me to hear them as it helps me remember to always be as safe as possible when I ride.

As for the pothole, I would look into "suing" the state/municipality. Here in Indy, we had such a problem with potholes over the past few years that the Mayor's office set up a hotline for motorists to inform the city about bad potholes that needed to be fixed. If the city had been notified and had not gone out to fix the pothole in a certain number of days (I think 10) and that pothole caused damage to a vehicle, the owner of the vehicle could turn in all their receipts/insurance claims and be fully refunded by the city. Ask me how I know.

Sorry to hear that man. Do what you gotta do...only YOU will know if you'll ever be ready to get on a bike again.

From one drummer to another, music will always keep you sane if you decide to never ride again.

Take care.

For you guys who advocate suing the road department for the pothole...

A few years ago a guy hit a off-ramp pothole in a nearby town and was seriously hurt. It even made local talk radio. The consensus of the non-riders out there was, "that's the risk you take when you ride a motorcycle".

So much for our day in court.

All the drama when someone wrecks...Either get back on or sell it. A wreck shouldn't scare you away if it really is a passion. Nuff said.
