Mocking up some early '60's tank badges on the 48. Thought y'all would like to check it out...

What color did you paint your tank? That is a nice "period"-looking copper. I was thinking it was Sedona Orange but it looks different...maybe because that horrid oversize factory graphic is gone. Whatever it is, it looks killer!

Is what I consider to be the 48's only flaw in my eyes. What.the.****. was HD thinking on that? Oh well...new paint is in my future.

 

Mine too. I just took delivery of my 48 last week. The tank is coming off tomorrow and will be on its way to the body shop immediately...as soon as I decide on the color!

 

Thanks man...The color is metallic burnt orange covered in copper pearl.
I couldn't stand the gigantic factory sticker either...

 

Did you attach that using the HD adapter kit part they offer? I assume it is attached with some sort of adhesive backing, right? Looks great. I was looking at one of the spectrum metal flake tanks with a similar tank badge, like the 48 shown in the catalog with the gold flake tank. Great looking 48 you have there.
