SportyPig,
I know you already responded and commented on the subject of the background in your picture, but I had to tell you that is a fantastic shot - you've got a good eye for a properly staged photo (and a sweet looking ride)! There is a beach/sea grass spot that I have been meaning to go back to with my camera. Seems I have CRS and can never remember to take it with me to get that shot I want! Hmmm... maybe if I tie a derby cover around my neck I'll remember...

The look the to shape and so forth makes the deuce look like a sportster custom on steriods. An over grown sporty. I really like the why deuces look. And there name is good too. So go with what makes you happier. reminder: if the wife is happier, you'll be happier.

I don't know what to tell you.... the bad thing about most motorcycle buyers is that... well they buy before ever getting a chance to ride what they buy. A trip around a parking lot is not much of a test either... so you don't know what you're getting yourself in for, for the most part.
It's kinda like a pretty woman... sure she looks real nice, but you'll never really know what she like until you've rode her a few times... You may find out that it's not what you thought is would be like.... lol
Kinda like marriage...

I like my Sporty. Everyone that looks at my bike on bike night comments, "I remember my Sportster and man I really miss it. Wish I had it back..." You should get what makes you happy bro. If I were after a BT I'd get the Deluxe. However, I'd keep my Sporty. On the days that I feel like a more spirited ride, on the Sporty I go. Sounds like you have a great opportunity. DO what your heart tells you. The new 50th anniversary Sportster is sweeeeeeet!! You can't go wrong with any '07. The 96 motor is a thing of beauty and the Sportsters get fuel injection.. It sounds like a tough choice. Berst of luck!
