anyone tried the 48 speedo mount?

I'm looking to do this soon and I'm just trying to wrap my head around this before I start, what part is being grinded down, the new risers or the 48 speedo bucket and why?

The risers will need ground down. The clamp for the 48 speedo bucket is not standard ( I really do not understand why).
