Default Carb issues

So pretty much long story short, I need a new carb.
I have a 1997 883 Sportster

I have only owned a Harley since April and I am still learning.

What is my best bet on a new carb? I am looking at used because money is an issue. Anyone have any recommendations?
I obviously don't want a piece of crap but I can't afford a $450 carb which is what the local HD store quoted me.

Why do you need a new one? My last resort would be picking up a Mikuni. You can get a new one for $289 from Eastern Performance.

Why not rebuild the one you have?

Its hard to beat a stock CV carb. Good for up to around 100HP. You should be able to pick up a good one for under a hundred bucks.Take a look on e-bay and ask around on this forum. ebay link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...Q5fAccessories
