NADA gave me about $2700 average value (including the windshield and saddlebags I saw in the pic). Unless there are more additions, I would say it is definitely over priced. The low mileage adds some value, but not a ton. Better values are out there.
I got my '02 for $4000 and it has probably $2000+ in additions that I would have done anyway and low miles, so I felt I got a good price because stock ones were going around $3200-$3500 when I bought it. It took me 6 months of searching daily and visiting dozens of bikes before I got it. Keep looking.

You can't just say that a Sportster is worth X$ because of its age. As with anything, it depends on condition, extras, etc. and the bottom line is that if you are happy with the price and the seller is happy with the price then you have the right price. If not, move on and there will be another "deal" down the road.
I would not buy any motor vehicle being concerned that you will sell it later for the same $ you paid or you will more than likely be disappointed (I know there are exceptions).
My guess is that if you were able to buy it outright you would get a better deal, but if you want owner financing you will have to pay a premium.
My 2 cents...
