I wouldn't say way overpriced but maybe a little since it's an 883. It looks like there are a few goodies on there.

Nice bike... If it was a 1200 it would be a good deal. Problem I see if you have to sell it you will not get the money you paid. If you can live with that then do it.

One other thing I know you can get `02 - `04 1200c for $4500 or so. So you might want to look around.

I got my 02 883 for $3500 3 yrs ago. I would look around. If you need to make payments, make payments to a bank account then buy one outright from a private seller. Being in MI, you won't be riding much till March or April anyway.

NADA gave me about $2700 average value (including the windshield and saddlebags I saw in the pic). Unless there are more additions, I would say it is definitely over priced. The low mileage adds some value, but not a ton. Better values are out there.

I got my '02 for $4000 and it has probably $2000+ in additions that I would have done anyway and low miles, so I felt I got a good price because stock ones were going around $3200-$3500 when I bought it. It took me 6 months of searching daily and visiting dozens of bikes before I got it. Keep looking.

You can't just say that a Sportster is worth X$ because of its age. As with anything, it depends on condition, extras, etc. and the bottom line is that if you are happy with the price and the seller is happy with the price then you have the right price. If not, move on and there will be another "deal" down the road.

I would not buy any motor vehicle being concerned that you will sell it later for the same $ you paid or you will more than likely be disappointed (I know there are exceptions).

My guess is that if you were able to buy it outright you would get a better deal, but if you want owner financing you will have to pay a premium.

My 2 cents...
