Wow....they sure sound crappy, thanks for the heads up on that daytona. I was looking at them online, have not seen one first hand. As for Licks Cycle...great people. I went to his shop here in Massachusetts last winter. My girl bought me the solo bag for the sporty, I also picked up a biltwell helmet (he threw in a couple t-shirts, hats and decals and **** like that). Super nice guy and cool shop, he had some nice bikes in there, too.

The Daytona 3/4 was the worst helmet I've ever had on my head...unbelievably uncomfortable. After that, I tried a Biltwell 3/4 and it was exactly the opposite...the best fitting and most comfortable helmet ever. However, after riding with the Biltwell, I was a little nervous about not having a DOT helmet so a buddy of mine, who actually works at a Yamaha dealer, ordered me a Zox Classic 3/4 DOT helmet and it fits exactly like my Biltwell did...way cheaper too.

If it falls more than a couple feet, you should replace it...

Yup. Helmets are designed for ONE impact. After that, they no longer protect you, so need to be replaced. If it's an expensive one, send it to the manufacturer, they'll inspect it for you and tell you whether or not it needs to be replaced. Cheap ones like the Daytona aren't worth the trouble, and should just be replaced.
