Default rebuilding top end

I'm rebuilding my top end and was going to order a whole top end gasket kit for my 1200 Sportster '92. What the difference between them all, what is a good brand, I am looking at cometic gaskets, are they alright? I will most likely be ordering from jp cycles

I would direct that question to the J&P Forum if that is where you are making the purchase. They could direct you to what it is you need. I have purchased from them many times. Xea can tell you exactly what you are ordering vs. what you need to order. He won't sell you what you don't need.

My opinion is: If you have a stock motor and are only changing the gaskets then just get the gasket set. If you have bored the juggs and are no-longer using stock pistons then purhaps you will need the oversized kit....it may come with rings...you need to ask.

I used Cometic when I did the 1250 conversion on my engine. Only have around 10,000 miles since then, but no problems so far.
