Default Changing Brake Lines, Need Help

I am putting new brake cables on my Nightster to fit on my Mini Apes. What kind of fitting is the first picture i have below? I have a brake line that is female screw, is there any way to attach this brake line to that fitting in the picture? Second part to that question, how do i disconnect that fitting?

Picture two is if i can't get the first fitting changed, is the lower fitting in the second picture a screw on fitting?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Are you thinking the swagged crimp is a fitting. Its actual a barb stuck in a hose and a metal band squeezed down. It does not come apart. You need to take the banjo fitting off the the master cylinder and the caliper. If I understand you correctly you really ought to get a mechanic to do this part. Motorcycles are really dangerous coming up to red lights with no brakes. MOM

You gotta replace the whole brake line. There's no way of just replacing the rubber hose sections, they're crimped together.

Yes it is. Most all new factor lines on Harley's are made up lines with crimps. I put extended forward controls on my bike and needed 3". Did not like the looks of the aftermarket. I cut into the metal tube part in the center were it runs along frame rail and double flaired it. Got a 12" GM caliper repair line from AutoZone for $5. and cut it to length and flaired it and spliced it in. Not really an option on front. I am sure there are adapters for your female line. If I was you I would get the correct length with the banjo fittiings rather then a banjo adaper.

This is the correct (and only) answer.

The entire hard line is removed and a new one piece brake line replaces it.
