The Street Bob rear fender doesn't look any different from the stock Dark Custom bobbed fender that already comes stock on those Sportsters, and that's a regular accessory-catalog item. See part number 60236-09BEO, $419.95 in primer.

I, on the other hand, am thinking the Street Bob style taillight would give me more light on the rear at night (I ride after dark a lot) and still retain the old-school bobber look, so I'm looking to add one of those on to my Forty-Eight. Looks like I need a new taillight wiring harness, as the Dark Custom one doesn't have the third connector for the taillight... but the parts guy at my local dealership says the harness from the Street Bob should just plug straight into the Sportster tail/turn module and work normally, since they use the same module. Sure hope so.

ive got a streetbob & 48,
the streetbob rear fender is too wide to fit the sporty.
if you have the longer fender, just cut it short and fit a sparto tail light.
I got a sparto for the 48, but looked too much like a streetbob, so found a custom tail light instead.
looks more old school than the standard 48 set up.

cool, just a heads up, you can do the plate like I did with the tail light for a lower look even though I am running a 11.5" suspension or they have a kit I believe for a side mount plate with tail light that goes to the swing arm. Just check local laws by you as by me they can ticket for it.
