04-up Sportster oil cooler. FEEDBACK?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...Q5fAccessories
Been contemplating this for a while. It looks like the same cooler that comes on the XR's. Awesome side-mount!
2 questions....
Anyone got one or pics of it mounted?
Does it actually help lower the oil temp?
I mainly want it for asthetics. I love the way it looks! Thoughts?

Will drop Oil Temps 15-20 degree's,,while yer movin,,
Might be a good Idea for HOT climates,,
Harleys are designed to run about 230 degrees,,
Most guys I know with Oil tank temp guages get
about 200- 220 with synthetic oil.
Oil needs to reach 212 for a time to burn off condensation,,,
I'm In Florida,,It's on my list but not a priority..
Looks cool,,I want one,,,
BUT,,only time I have heat issues Is in Rally parades,,
It won't do much for that,,,
For cooler days ya can always make a nice leather cover for it XD
1st pic has one,,notice the second pic,,no coolers,,
They took em off cause they know the engine performs better at spec temps..
an they always got air flow,,,

I've heard the Harley coolers are all made by JAG. I have an H-D cooler on my RKC and a side mount JAG on my XL. They do help, I live in NYC and traffic is bad and slow so the coolers help. The JAG on the Sporty has a dial in the middle of the two hoses just below the cooler body where I can run the oil through the cooler or divert through the dial to just go back to the filter. It helps in the winter.

At Leesburg I got stuck In the Parare crawl,,got er hot.
If the cooler helps In that slow crawl It must be the extra surface area.
Gonna have It,
A Jag I saw in J&P cycles looked a bit narrower than the factory HD one,,

just for the sake of ease, I would suggest getting an adaptor with it...it turns the job into a bolt on job that you can do with an oil change...it costs a little more but no re-routing of oil lines.
