Question Powder coating wheels do's and dont's

i am about to powder coat my wheels, i guess i should take out the center spacer when i take out the bearings and send them off to powder coating?

the manual shows removing the bearings with the rotor on. I am taking the rotor off anyway as i am replacing them. Best to take the bearings out before taking the rotor off or after or is here any difference?

as well, I intend on taking the wheel to a local bike shop to remove the tire, again no difference if i take the rotor and pulley off? In my head i feel it is better to remove everything but i cant find any literature on this. Thanks everyone for your comments! Ted

Hi Ted! As a rule of thumb you want to fully strip the wheel before PC, and be sure to tell the shop NOT to put powder on the inside of the wheel where the hub goes, or you will have a fit putting it all back together. Also remember that anything that cannot take a sustained 425*f for 15 or so minutes will get destroyed by the process.
As for the bearing and spacer, yes, remove them all. As for the rotor, I have always removed the rotor first, but my bikes in the past may be different than yours.

Good luck!
