Default fuel remap with new intake

Hi every one I have a 2008 Nightster and i wanted to put on a high flow intake maybe like the hypercharger or the screaming eagle one. i was wondering if i would have to buy a power commander and get the fuel remaped at the dealer if i was going to do this or if i could just install everthing and leave the programing the way it is.

First off, the Hypercharger is not a "high flow intake." It actually flows less air than the stock ham can. The Screaming Eagle is the best "bang for the buck" air cleaner there is, although there are others that breathe better. You do NOT need a power commander for this upgrade. Most dealers (especially if they are only HD dealers) will not re-map your fuel, either. What they do is reprogram the ECM for a higher redline, but it leaves the AFR at 14.6:1. If you are worried about that being too lean (whether it is or not is a highly contentious matter), then add a pair of X14iEDs from Nightrider. These will trick your FI into richening the circuit to 14:1, which will also smooth power delivery, ease off-idle stumbling when cold, and ease popping on deceleration.
