Default 98 XL1200 clutch cable

Is the clutch hydraulic? I have been looking for an oil leak, and foud the drip is coming from the clutch line I think. The cable on mine is a two piece cable with a boot on the part that screws together. I thought the clutch was cable operated. Is the leak maybe hydraulic fluid? Also, how easy it to replace the cable?
