Wear something where the collar snaps down. If you wear something like a jean jacket, the tips of the collar will beat your neck to death. Trust me on this.

No collars here, and I use a leather lotion formula to clean mine. Don't know what's in it.

Home depot sells a chrome snap kit for about 5$. Put snaps on your collars if they need em.

years now still no cracking, still looks good.
Use saddle soap or aerosol leather jacket cleaner on my leather gear. Just wondering if the oil would leave a residue and the vinegar a lingering smell?

After looking at the Aerostitch Roadcrafter and other similar gear, I just bought higher end 4 season textile gear ($680 jacket & pants) a few months ago. After riding with leather gear for many, many years I'm not sure I would go back. So far it has been the most comfortable jacket I've owned in both the heat (90F) and the cold. Right now I am riding in 32F temps. Unlike a lot of textile gear I've seen this has a lot of abrasion protection. Uses 2000 denier Dupont Cordura (abrasion rating similar to 1.3mm leather) like Aerostich suits instead of nylon. To clean it you just remove the armor and throw it in the wash.
