Default Bar-end mirrors installation? ? ?

Anyone have a tutorial on bar-end mirror installation? Am I an idiot or do you have to drill a hole through your grip ends to mount them? I'm totally clueless.

ain't got'em but i think most require the grip end to be open to access the h-bar so the 'stem' goes inside it...there's some that strap to the grip like you would strap a watch in your wrist

Yes, the end of your grip needs to be opened or cut off. The mirror mounting plug is pushed into the handlebar end and an Allen bolt is tightened to expand a rubber bung against the handlebar inside wall to attache the mirrors. You need the entire diameter of the handlebar to be visible when the grip is cut away.
