you would have to remachine/remake the engine cases to put a kickstarter on your bike.. it is totaly differant then a ironhead..

On my 1991, the brake MC is right where the kicker goes, so you must have to move the rear MC somewhere. Maybe for use with forward controls only? Could not access the video blog to see what they do.

Cant remember where I saw it but someone sells a kit for a non functional kick starter for Sportsters, its only for the look. I know it didn't fit my newer bike so I moved on from it but if I come across it again i'll post it on here.

I don't see a benefit in going with an add on kick start. I would spend the money and get the relay or whatever fixed for the electric start.

If an 88 has a carb then you are also talking about a choke add on etc. and if you screw up your starting sequence you'll wish you got a push to jump start it.

If you are worried about being stranded, electrically, then practice jump starting by getting a push or rolling down hill.

If your concerned about a battery issue, they have jump start devices that are a little bigger than an iphone and can start you bike 4 or 5 times or a slightly larger one 20 times.

I think the kick is going backwards and really takes away from the look, get the relay fixed.
