joe- yeah i ride an iron too. i'm trying to justify getting the 1200 kit but i don't want to have to put the bike down for that long, lol.

I hear you.. although a thought a lot about the investment... and unless you are just installing the cheapest kit (cylinders/pistons) and no heads/cams for probably less than $1000 then I find hard to justify spending about $4k for a stage 3 kit when you can get whole used 1200cc sportster for a bit more ... no need to install ... just ride.. (sure, you'll have two sportsters... but what is better than a sportster?? two sportsters!!.. :-)

Is there a way to test the VSS? I bought my bike with no operational speedo. The speedometer itself was replaced with a new one (sticker was still on it), and I pulled the VSS hoping to find metal shavings covering it, but it was totally clean. I just don't wanna shell out $60 on a new one to find that the problem was somewhere else.
